# Mobile installation — Mobile 0.1.1

Package: `matchup-replay-companion-mobile-0.1.1.crx`. This is an experimental mobile build. Installation, replay collection, and live sync have not been verified on physical phones.

## Browser compatibility

- Android Chrome and iPhone Chrome cannot install this CRX. Add to Desktop sends an extension to desktop Chrome, not your phone. [Google instructions](https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2664769?hl=en).
- Android Edge Canary / Beta can be tried only if it offers **Extension install by crx**.

## Experimental Android Edge installation

1. Install Edge Canary on your phone. The following experimental menu may be unavailable in your release. Beta is applicable only when it exposes the same menu.
2. Save the **Mobile CRX** to your phone. Do not unzip it or rename a ZIP to CRX.
3. Open Settings → About Microsoft Edge. Tap the version about five times to check for Developer Options.
4. Choose Developer Options → **Extension install by crx**, select the file, and confirm. If that entry is absent, this method is unavailable; do not use desktop instructions.
5. Open Matchup Replay Companion from the browser's extensions menu. Confirm **Mobile 0.1.1**, save your Showdown IDs, and enable collection and live calculation as needed.
6. Open or refresh Showdown in the same browser. An extension installed in Edge cannot read a battle open in Chrome.

This route follows a [Microsoft project's experimental Android runbook](https://github.com/microsoft/amplifier-browser-bridge/blob/main/docs/ANDROID.md); it does not establish real-device compatibility for this extension. If a CRX download disappears, transfer the original CRX from your computer instead.

## Mobile controls

Drag the small Matchup launcher to reposition it. Tap for compact damage results, Configure for full settings, Results to return, and × to collapse without stopping sync. Tap a move row for calculation details. Check for stale data after returning from the background; refresh Showdown if needed.

After saving a replay, wait for Showdown's successful replay-link popup, then open the library and group it manually.

## Updates and local data

Export a backup first. Try installing a newer **Mobile** CRX through the same menu; upgrade support varies by browser. If rejected, keep your current installation and backup rather than uninstalling. Earlier packages incorrectly numbered 0.15.x may reject 0.1.1 as a downgrade; keep a backup and the old package rather than risking data loss just to change the number.

Teams and the library remain local to this browser. Use backup export/restore to move between devices or browsers. Showdown's replay visibility still follows Showdown's own settings.

## Using mobile Chrome

Open the [Matchup website](https://champions-matchup.pages.dev/) to import and analyze replays manually. Automatic collection and live battle capture require the extension.
